How to change the basic color seems for windows

It is possible to change some of the colours windows. you do this by pressing window key R, typing regedit. And I'm going to(in vista)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors. You can then set the colors to the desired RGB values. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rgb
These must be written in the form 000 000 000 with spaces in between the three groups of numbers if you're going to set red to one you must write 001 000 000 with the zeros before the one. You must log off and log back on for your changes to take effect. I recommend backing up the colors registry directory before and after the changes. Installing office for instance will set the colors back to the default so once you've customized your scheme. You'll want to be able to recustomize without having to tweak everything again. Once the registry key is backed up simply opening it in windows explorer will restore the values that were backed up.
Note for vista users: there are several color picker applets tha use java. Do not install java on vista beta two it's currently not supported and it'll make Internet explorer unable to start until you open it up to no add ons mode and disable the java pluggins. There are three of them. By not able to start I mean crashes on startup.
